Our first “Mission Sport” was at The Boys and Girls Club of Lowell. This was a mission that was very important to Sydney as she had visited The Boys and Girls Club the previous summer and had spent two weeks with the children. From speaking to the kids, she learned that they did not have any other opportunity for sports as money was used for food and clothing. Before Sydney left, she promised Mr. Gilmore that she would be back to help solve the problem. Not even a year later, Mission Sport, with the amazing generosity of Dick’s Sporting Goods, Super Soccer Stars, The UMASS Lowell Girls Basketball team and many personal and professional donations, spent a day at The Boys and Girls Club, providing much need equipment and training to an amazing organization. From soccer to basketball, from four square to hoolahoops, no child was not active. The beautiful day ended with a frozen treat, hand delivered by Sydney.
"When I got a call from Sydney Scott telling me about her organization and what they wanted to do to help our organization, I was so overwhelmed with excitement and gratefulness. The event was extraordinary and all our members had a very good time. I was so happy for our members and the look on their faces were timeless."
There was ice cream and games
For kids with different names
Prizes and fun
For staff members and everyone
Music and Toys
For all Girls and Boys
But most of all there was Love from Mission Sport
A Love of a different sort
A love that was Real
A love that they could feel
At the end of the day smiles were abundant and kids later listened.
About a organization that has a great mission.
A mission that cares, inspires and says
That you can be anything
